I have been playing with mosaics for almost fourteen years, and during that time I have learnt so much, and learning never stops, it is what keeps us fresh, keeps us interested in life, interested in others, and just plain interesting (I hope) to be around.
And so when I have someone new join my mad mosaic world, they are the 'newbie' the one who is discovering mosaics for the first time. Usually the one to say, "I am not very creative". But one thing I have discovered, everyone is creative, each of us come with a story, life experience, their own slant on how it all is.. and with that comes an ability to create; and little bits of them starts to shine through their first piece and as they learn more, more shines through. The joy for me is seeing the journey and so I never tire of 'newbies' or of "I am not very creative" because the joy is apparent in their faces when they finish their first piece. And such is joy! |
